Season 1997/98 was only Versity’s second season in the MAFA League. In that year, Versity played in MAFA’s Fourth Division. The team had mixed experiences finishing in the middle of the table with wins in the “derby” against Birkirkara Alberta and heavy defeats against Dingli and Bahrija. Of that team only Daniel Camilleri (now coach and secretary of the team), Aaron Sammut (now member of the committee), and Rudolph Psaila are still playing with Versity.
